All of these are set by this website only. Analytics cookies are not set until you choose “Allow analytics”.
What analytics measures
- Pages viewed, and which enquiry steps are reached. Not the answers.
- Which buttons are clicked, such as “Speak to a broker” in the header or on a page, and clicks on our email and phone links.
- How far down a page you scroll (25%, 50%, 75% and 100%), and whether a page stays open for 20 and 60 seconds.
- Your device type: mobile, tablet or desktop.
- Whether this browser has visited before.
- How you arrived: a search engine, a social link, another website, an advertisement or a direct visit, plus any campaign labels in the link (source, medium and campaign name). For an advertisement we note only that it was one. The ad platform’s click identifier is not stored.
- Whether an enquiry was sent.
We use this to see which campaigns, pages and buttons lead to enquiries, and where people stop. Records are stored in our Google Sheet and kept for up to 90 days. If you send an enquiry while analytics is on, the browser ID and the way you arrived are saved with that enquiry so we can tell which campaigns bring enquiries.
What analytics does not record
Your name, email, mobile number, finance answers, anything you type, full web addresses or search terms, or your IP address. We do not use advertising pixels, social media tracking tags or session recordings, and nothing is shared with advertising networks.
Turn analytics off
Choose “Essential only” above and save, or choose it on the prompt that appears on your first visit. Turning analytics off stops new activity collection and removes the optional cookies from this browser. It does not delete records already received; contact us about those records.
Other services
Hosting and sign-in services may use their own essential security cookies. Cookies do not enrol you in marketing emails or SMS.
